Checklist
- Setup a draft for the quarter's edition of the newsletter. Ensure content is easier for everyone to understand, even if they're not tech-savvy. See April 2025 newsletter.
- Ask Language and Product Localization team members in Slack channel to add items to the draft.
- Gather any relevant metrics from data analysts or stories from community members and liaisons to add as items.
- Modify month and year on this header graphic (require WMF account access) and add it to the newsletter wiki page.
- Make final copy-edits, remove {{draft}} from the page and mark the page for translations. For reference, see

- Make a review request to WMF Comms (by October 1st week)
- Make a request for help with translations by emailing translators-l (see example)
- Edit Wikimedia_Language_and _Product Localization/Newsletter on MediaWiki.org to link to latest edition.
- Promote the newsletter
- Use the newsletter page to announce the new page to subscribers - this requires being a publisher, see Access list on office.wiki.
- Send an email to Wikitech-l, Wikimedia-l, Wikidata-l, Clouds-l, Wikitech-Ambassadors, Wikimedia Announcements mailing lists announcing the newsletter to the wider technical community. (see example)
- Publish the newsletter on the Diff blog. See previous newsletter for reference. Modify month and year on this Diff thumbnail graphic (require WMF account access) and upload it as a featured image.
- Telegram / IRC channels https://t.me/WikimediaAnnouncements, https://t.me/wmhack, https://t.me/wikilang, https://t.me/wikimedia_language
- Wikipedia village pumps for languages that have received translations (see example)
- Set up Phabricator task for next quarter on the Language and Product Localization and LPL Onboarding and Development and copy this checklist into its task description.
