Hello, I am opening up a task because there has been a problem for a longer time with the localized name for the Gothic language.
Unfortunately "Gothic" as a language is not attested in this language, but we can make some estimations of what the language could have been called.
Currently, π²πΏππΉππΊ (Gutisk) is used for the name of the language across Wikipedia.
This is the adjective 'Gothic' in Gothic treated as a neuter noun, comparable to how this is done in English with some modern languages. It's not the name of the language, as this is just an adjective in Gothic. *π²πΏπππ°πΆπ³π° (Gutrazda) (literally: Goth-language) is more likely by analogy with the attested *GutΓΎiuda (literally: Goth-people or Goth-nation), attested in the calendar of martyrs, besides that Razda Gutiska (literally: Gothic language) or Razda Gutane (literally: language of the Goths) are at least plausible or grammatical.
There was a discussion back in 2018 on a change for how the language is called, but we could start a new community discussion if this is necessary.
The question is if the current usage of π²πΏππΉππΊ could be replaced with one of the suggestions above like π²πΏπππ°πΆπ³π°, which is more plausible to be used in the language for the language itself.
