Dark blue link color is barely readable in dark mode with dimmed screen (Android App)
Open, Needs TriagePublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Open any article containing links
  • Use dark mode (doesn't matter which of the two)

What happens?:

The links are dark blue with a black background. This is somewhat readable when the screen is lit, but when the screen is dimmed, the link text is almost invisible.

What should have happened instead?:

The links used to have a lighter blue before. I guess an update changed this, as I didn't change anything.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Android App
Version 2.7.50545-r-2025-08-18

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

This sounds like it could be just a momentary network/cache issue on your device. (We don't see this on any of our devices, and there are no other user reports.)
Can you try swiping-down to reload the article? And if that fails, fully close and reopen the app? (And if that fails, clear the cache of the app through the Android system settings.)

This first came up some weeks ago, then returned to normal for a few days, and has been like this now for several days. Doesn't seem to be a momentary issue.
Also, I have tried all the things you mentioned and this didn't solve it. Rebooted the phone, cleared app cache again, but no.

Here you can see the lighter blue that previously was used for the links, too. Screenshot from now.
