Copy changes for V3 YIR
Closed, DuplicatePublic1 Estimated Story Points

Description

Some notes on copy changes that need to be made, since we've evolved the copy in v3 from v2:

Looking at build 106.

Logged-Out non-EN

  1. can we make "billion" lowercase here on the second slide, per design?
  2. also for the second slide, can you make sure we reference "app users" rather than iOS specifically?
  3. can we make "million" lowercase here on the third slide, per https://www.figma.com/design/NhCAbzD1sGjBMoK8tN47ot/iOS---%3E-Year-in-Review-v3?node-id=8-1830&t=rcsZzTA1s1qDOU9A-1?
  4. also for the third slide, can we make sure we reference "active app users" rather than iOS users?
  5. can we make sure the copy on the fourth slide references the copy in the design?
  6. Jaz confirmed yesterday that we should switch over to referencing number of saved articles rather than number of saved reading lists — can we update here per the design I've updated?
  7. can we make sure the copy on the "edited X times per minute" screen also reflects the copy in the design?

Logged-out EN

  1. can we make sure the copy for the second slide in the flow reflects that in the design?
  2. can we make sure the third slide references "active app users" rather than iOS specifically?

Logged-in non-EN

  1. fixing #1-7 above in the logged-out non-EN flow will probably fix the same issues in this flow, since it's the same slide, no?
  2. per Jaz's confirmation yesterday mentioned above in #6, i've updated the personalized saved slide to reference the collective saved articles. can you please add that in here?

Logged-in EN

  1. fixing #9, #10, and #12 above will likely cascade down to this flow as well, no?

Event Timeline

@SChekfa-WMF I'm so sorry I missed all of these!

Would it work if you design-reviewed these against the user testing builds? All the strings have been updated in those builds, just note that the personalized data has forced mock numbers / article titles to match the Figma.

no worries at all Toni, some of these also came in a couple days ago! thank you so much, I'll review there. @Tsevener

Tsevener set the point value for this task to 1.Sep 18 2025, 2:34 PM

hi Toni, i'm reviewing the copy against the latest user testing builds and I have some notes:

  1. this slide should say "nearly 275,000 years," not "over 275,000 years."
  1. please use em dashes (—) rather than hyphens for "—the good, bad, weird, and wild alike—" on this screen.
  1. can we update the copy on this screen for EN and non-EN to reference the top 50% figure we just talked about on the call?
  1. can we reference 2025 on this screen, not 2024?

@Tsevener

We have another copy changes task here - https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T405488

So moving this to blocked until we can work on them all at the same time.
