The 2017 wikitext editor has a hamburger/option menu with multiple disabled options that are only enabled when in visual editing mode. However, it's unclear that the options are disabled because of your editor mode.

As an editor, I expect disabled menu options to have clearly communicated reasons as to why they are not disabled, so that I can more easily understand when I can use those features.

Easiest fix is likely a tooltip, though hiding the options altogether might be acceptable, though I think a tooltip is clearer.
