Some of the workflows that we would like to move from Beta Cluster to the Pretrain environment involve automated test suites. At various points in the past Quality Services folks have met with resistance to some tests performed in "production" wikis like testwiki. To reduce this friction in the future we should discuss what is desired and what is acceptable among interested parties including:

• Release Engineering
• Quality Services
• Test Platform
• SREs
• DBAs
• testwiki sysops and patrollers
• Stewards
• ...

An ideal outcome would be publicly documented guidance on best practices and requirements for both automated and manual testing performed on test wikis in the production environment. This may include additional guidance applicable only to certain wikis where the community is more or less lenient than the agreed baseline.
