Description

Context

This year we are bringing the Year in Review feature to Android, after its initial deployment and iterations on iOS. The goal is to deepen engagement and increase retention of readers.

Requirements

Add viewed edits slide
Data for this slide will be the last 60 days, and therefore not limited to 2025. That is ok, we'll note this in the FAQ page.
Show a total pageview count from the GrowthImpactAPI for the language the user has set as primary in the app
Pageview variable is in the title and the text
If they are logged out, or have not edited one or more articles, show the collective slide based on their language
- For the collective/fall back slides, the "Learn how to participate" link should lead to the Editing section of the Android FAQ: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Apps/Android_FAQ#Editing, in their device language. fallback to English.

@cooltey didn't we want to avoid the case where their edits have not been viewed at all? see here:

@HNordeenWMF @Tsevener do you remember the guardrails we placed on ios to avoid this edge case?

on a separate note @cooltey, i'm seeing this screen in the collective flow as well, when we should only be showing the collective slide based off their language, even if they are an editor. please refer to the flow for those collective slides.

@SChekfa-WMF @cooltey iOS doesn't show this slide if their edit view count == 0, we show it for any count larger than that.

Working for me on 2.7.50556-r-2025-11-13, on OnePlus 8 on Android 13, and Pixel 6 on Android 16. Tested on all themes.

My total for views recently on Android is not matching iOS or Web. These are all for the account Snowviola: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Impact/Snowviola.

?? Here is the impact module for your account, as seen from the web link you posted:

It shows different pageviews from either the above iOS or Android screenshots, so I'm not sure the problem is on our end.
It could be some kind of glitch in the data for this API and/or module; in fact, when I refresh it now, it's showing the correct number.

That is really odd. I just checked again and they're all matching now at 137K!
