Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
I would like to be able to create a list of people who might be ready for adminship, using the XTools adminscore to identify those most likely to be in need of the tools. Currently, the default numbers and categories in the tool do not align well with what it typically expected for admin hopefuls on enwiki. More suitable numbers would be the following (possibly with an if-statement for enwiki).
Activity Multiplier
Account Age (days) 1.25 > 0.15 (so that max is just before 2 years)
Edit Count 1.25 > 0.01 (so that 10k edit maxes this out)
Userpage size 0.1
Page Patrols 1 > 0.5 (so that 200 maxes this out)
Participation in AFDs 1.15 > 0.8
Recent activity (720 days) 0.9 > 0.05 (so that 2,000 maxes this out)
Participation at AIV 1.15 > 0.8
Use of edit summaries 0.8 > 1 + change to edit summary percentage
Namespaces 1 > 0.025 (maxes out at 4000)
Pages Created (live) 1.4 > delete
Pages Created (deleted) 1.4 > delete
Participation at RFPP 1.15 > 1
Other possible improvements might be a bit more time-consuming (happy to make a new phab for it)
- Add a category for other deletion processes: the sum of edits to a user's PROD, CSD log and AfC log
- Main page process edits: the sum of edits to ERRORS, Did you Know prep areas and In The News discussions (ITN/C)
Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):
- Create a quarry with a ranking of editors based on their need for admin tools
- Get a quick idea about readiness for adminship for someone you're vetting
Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Finding editors to vet for adminship is time-consuming. Having better tools at hand to help frequent nominators find experienced editors will hopefully allow us to find more suitable editors, and help a bit with the declining admin numbers on Wikipedia.
