Description

Background

During user testing, folks mentioned that the highlights screen could be more dynamic, and they did not get the info-box reference immediately. This could be because the image is not displayed initially on the slide.

Requirements

  • Show the Wikipedia globe on the highlights slides initially
  • Make content scrollable if necessary

Nice to have

  • [Added Nov 6] For the personalized version (in flow and shareable image): Add total articles read, removed articles saved

Designs

InfoBox is now rendered in full, including the globe. Due to limited real estate on certain device sizes, and based off my conversation with @GOlson-WMF, we will stick to a fixed height regardless of device size. This InfoBox then will need to be scrollable in certain cases (for ex. dynamic text, logged-in personalized versions, longer articles, etc.):

Logged-out non-EN

Logged-out EN

Logged-in

Testing Notes

Test in latest Wikipedia (white icon) TestFlight 7.8.6 build.
Can toggle Year in Review on in developer settings to bypass config active date, or change device time to see feature.

@Tsevener the infobox scroll doesn't appear to be functioning — here is what i'm seeing on my phone, where part of it is cut off at the bottom (I can only scroll the full page, not the actual box):

this is also reflecting on the share image:

@Tsevener
I just filed another task related to Highlights that will need to be fixed this or next sprint, T409483: Highlights information not displaying for logged-out group B. Highlighting it here in case anyone else sees the same issue during QA/review.

this looks good to me, the only fix I'm flagging is that we should make sure the border is visible at all times, and the information is scrollable within — right now, the border only appears at the top of the box, hiding when you scroll, and the bottom of the box when you reach the bottom of the content within. can we make sure the border is fixed at all times?

video for reference to what i'm seeing

@SChekfa-WMF Unfortunately the bouncing makes this always-on border look odd, and there's not a way for me to disable the bouncing here. Would you prefer this behavior?

@SChekfa-WMF Disregard! I figured it out, video incoming.

@SChekfa-WMF

You can check this now in this screencast. If you'd rather wait to check it in a build (post-merge), let me know.

Looks good to me on 7.8.6 (5885). Tested on iPhone 16 on iOS 26, iPad 12.9 on iPadOS 26, and iPhone 11 on iOS 18.
