Thanks @Ejegg - @Lars this relates to the thread with @krobinson about these emails. Would it make sense/be possible to have these be different emails (rather than having the one email serve the two purposes)?

@AKanji-WMF It looks to me like this email covers both use cases, since all they are doing is getting a new link to login and it doesn't really matter which. Is there something specific we are looking for in the donor portal email that isn't in there? Certainly possible to split if we want to though.

Fair enough - I was thinking that it could say something really specific like "here's your secure link to manage your recurring donation with WMF - please note it will expire within X timeframe". But for the sake of simplicity for now I'm fine to have one email do both things. I do still think it needs a bit of a copy tweak that @KHill-WMF can support with.

Note that this is also now used for double opt-in, so for three things.

Hi @Lars, does this copy need to be neutral enough to be used for donor portal login, double opt-ins and email preference center?

Here's the revised copy, but it's geared towards the donor portal login process:

Subject line: Log in to your Wikimedia Foundation donor account

Body copy:

Dear %firstname%,

To log in to your donor account, please click here: https://donorpreferences.wikimedia.org/XXX

Thank you for being an active supporter of Wikipedia and our free knowledge projects.

Sincerely,

@KHill-WMF I think if we wanted to use that text, we'd have to split this into 2 or 3 separate messages and use something different for Email Preferences and Double Opt-In pages. I don't have a good sense of the value in splitting, considering the need for future translations, versus just sticking with something generic that works for any replacement link.

Would this work for you? If yes, I'll get it reviewed and approved:

Subject line: Wikimedia Foundation link request

Body copy:

Dear %firstname%,

Here is the link you've requested, please click here: https://XXX.wikimedia.org/XXX

Thank you for being a supporter of Wikipedia and our free knowledge projects.

I've asked Sandra to make this update, will reply when completed.

Email copy has been updated by Sandra.

QQ: will the link be dynamically generated? Do we need to update the URL (checksum) parameters? Please see screenshot.
