Cannot open downloaded epub files from the notification bar
Closed, ResolvedPublicBUG REPORT

Description

When a book download is completed, there is a notification which says file downloaded. When clicking on that, it should open the book in reader.

  1. Disable showing "Wikisource Reader" as an option to open PDF or EPUB files from external apps like file explorer.
  2. Check if we should modify the current "File downloaded" notification so as to enable users to start reading the work by tapping on the notification.
  3. If that is not possible, modify the notification tap behavior to open the library screen so that users can click on "Read" button to start reading.

Event Timeline

Hello @Bodhisattwa @Saiphani02 , Wanted to remind you about the PR I made, thank you!

Reviewing, apologies for the delay

@System625 Can you make a slight change to show book title instead of the file name in notification? Because when we download works in languages other than English, it is showing a confusing random file name.

Oh okay no problem, I’ll make the changes soon

Book titles for French and Italian books are not being displayed in the notification for some reason. Can you investigate? Also better to show the title in native language instead of the English one.

Hello @Saiphani02 , I have fixed and pushed the fix. The problem was I was using book.title instead of book.titleNativeLanguage
Here is a screenshot of books downloaded during testing.
