What should have happened instead?:
You are navigated to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1320063258#Section_links_with_[square_brackets]_in_edit_summaries, which scrolls to the new section.
Other information:
Using [/] in place of [/] doesn't change the result.
