What happens?:
We see a large spike in JS related errors, starting on Friday Nov. 7 2025, starting at around 13:30 UTC.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

  • Only affecting: 1.46.0-wmf.1
  • across many wikis, most visible on enwiki
  • Primarily on Vector 2022 (desktop)
  • Affecting anonymous users

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

The errors don't seem to be related to a single module, but rather to module loading itself.
Gadget related errors of this nature were filtered out in T266720

The error message has been present at a very low rate for a while, but all of the errors logged in today's spike have the same user-agent. I think this is unlikely to be normal human traffic.
