Event Timeline

I can confirm that this is still a problem. I started editing a page, switched to "Edit Source", made no changes to the body of the article but did add in an Edit Summary, and hit "Publish changes". I was then given the very confusing "The page has been restored" message.

Other possibly relevant details:

  • It was a semi-protected page. I thought "restored" was referring to a rejection of my changes, but actually my edit was saved correctly.
  • I had only switched to Edit Source mode because I wasn't familiar with the Visual Editor and couldn't find where I was supposed to put the Edit Summary before publishing. That means the article itself was unchanged in the Source Editor. Perhaps that is part of what is triggering this bug.
