Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Save articles while online
  • Go offline
  • Navigate to the saved article
  • Tap a link to an article that is not saved
  • On the article preview, tap add to reading list

What happens?:
Nothing happens. When back offline, the article is not saved.

What should have happened instead?:
The user is able to add the article to a list, and when back online, the article is saved.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
Tested on 2.7.5058-r-2025-11-19 on OnePlus 8 on Android 13, and Pixel 6 on Android 16. Does not occur on iOS (different style of article preview, no save function)

Tested on 50564-r-2025-12-15 on OnePlus 8 on Android 13, and Pixel 6 on Android 16. Tested on all themes.
