[BUG] iPad: search field after launch doesn’t receive focus

Description

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch app (kill first if necessary)
  2. Tap main search field

Expected results

Search field receives focus

Actual results

Search field flashes, but no focus
(Use the tab bar to navigate somewhere else; the search field will now receive focus properly)

@ABorbaWMF Could you please test & see if you can identify steps for reproduction
I'm curious if this happens on iPhone, or iPhone landscape as well, and if there are any specific specs for iOS Version 26 vs other

If this is a bug report regarding the search field on explore feed, an article, or places, then I cannot reproduce it on iPad Pro 12.9 and iPad Air 11' (M3) on 7.8.9 (5916)

Here is what I found:

In most cases, throughout the app, if the user taps a search field, they are immediately presented with an on-screen keyboard. For example, tapping search on the explore feed presents a keyboard. In the case of tapping the search tab, however, it does not. The user has to tap in the search field to see the keyboard.

This true on iPad and iPhone.
