Hi, this looks like an issue with the system fonts provided by Ubuntu, so it needs to be reported to Ubuntu.
No problem in Firefox 146.0 on Fedora Linux:
I don't think that this is a problem of Ubuntu! Using my smartphone with android operating system and Chrome Browser I have the same rendering issus. Using my Ubuntu operating system with firefox browser there is no issue. So maybe its a Chrome specific issue. So I am realy wrong here?
It seems to be a font problem, and you are right that Ubuntu might not be the only distribution with broken fonts. But you are right that it could also be an interpretation problem in Chromium code.
Argh, I am very sorry, I could have sworn that I had set MathJax in my preferences. Sorry for wasting your time. :(
