They need admin rights to edit the variables on platform airflow instance.

Something is odd here. I had already added you to the airflow-platform-eng-ops group in LDAP.

But I watched you logout from IDP with https://idp.wikimedia.org/logout and then log back in at https://idp.wikimedia.org/login - but the new group didn't show up the list.

@Snwachukwu - Could you possibly take a screenshot of https://idp.wikimedia.org/login after a logout -> login cycle, just to confirm this behaviour, please?

@SLyngshede-WMF - Do you have any idea what might be happening here, please?

Yes @BTullis. I still don't have the access to Admin-> Variable on the web UI after adding me to the LDAP group. Here is my screenshot after logout -> login cycle.

This got solved in a Slack thread.

TLDR: after adding a user to a group in LDAP, the user has to https://idp.wikimedia.org/logout for it to take effect, and logout from Airflow as well.
