As part of the backend migration, we are identifying and documenting Blazegraph features and functionalities that need to be accounted for in a new system. The category service is a dedicated knowledge graph that we serve off of the WDQS nodes used internally for search.

• Why do we expose this externally?
• Does it need to be maintained post-Blazegraph? Internally and externally?
