[P0] Architecture Initiative
Open, HighPublic

Description

The expected outcome of this ticket is a decision-ready Architecture RFC that enables Product and Engineering to align on what problem we are solving and which architectural direction to pursue.

Concretely, by the end of this work we expect:

  1. A Shared Problem Definition
  2. A clearly articulated and prioritized set of problems the architecture must address
  3. An explicit linkage between:
  • Product requirements -Snapshot and revision needs
  • Current symptoms (round trips, complexity, interlinking)
  • Clear in-scope vs out-of-scope boundaries
  1. Evaluated Architecture Options: explicit analysis of:
  • How each option supports product needs
  • Impact on snapshots, revisions, and future interlinking
  • Trade-offs and limitations
  1. Engineering recommendation based on:
      • Engineering feasibility
      • Product priorities
    • Long-term scalability and maintainability
    • Clear articulation of why this option is preferred now

6 Risk and effort visibility

  • Identified technical and operational risks
  • High-level effort estimates and dependencies
  • Identification of areas requiring further spikes or follow-up work
  1. Review and validation by:
  • Engineering (devs and SRE)
  • Product
  • DPE

out of scope

-No implementation tasks are created yet

-No sprint commitment is made

-No final system design is locked in
