WE6.2.9: Adopt node.js service-utils
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hypothesis text:

If we adopt node.js service-utils, we will be able to release, in a tested way, either of: service-mesh routing or OpenTelemetry publishing.

This is an umbrella task for work under WE6.2.9 to onboard service-utils to ServiceOps, including development and documentation work to support landing either of the two features described in the hypothesis text.

The WE6.2.9 hypothesis has wrapped up. For the record, we opted to focus on the OpenTelemetry integration feature (T416756: Release OpenTelemetry integration for service-utils) and that work is now complete. The initial work in T416757: Develop a service-mesh HTTP client for service-utils will be pursued outside the scope of WE6.2.9.
