Improve visual design of “connected temporary accounts” alert
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Background

We recently introduced an alert message on Special:Contributions to indicate when a temporary account has related (connected) temporary accounts. This alert is intended to help patrollers quickly understand and investigate related activity.

Problem

The alert currently uses the same yellow visual style as block warnings. Patrollers have reported that this is confusing, as it can be misinterpreted.

We need to identify and implement a clearer visual presentation for the connected temporary accounts alert to reduce confusion for patrollers

Acceptance criteria

  • Change the message to ‘notice’ level status. This will use the info icon and change the colour to grey.

Event Timeline

I’ve added a link in the description to the updated Figma designs. My suggested solution is to change the message to ‘notice’ level status. This will use the info icon rather than the alert icon and change the colour to grey. This level of message is probably more appropriate to what is being communicated and will avoid a visual style clash with the existing block warnings.

I missed this ticket but made the change in I288d4e to match the designs, which reflected the updated spec.
