Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

• Update the Wikipedia iOS app to version 7.8.6 (or later).
• Open the app.
• Observe the startup behavior.

What happens?:
The app remains stuck on the startup screen and does not fully load.
Users report the app hanging during launch and becoming unusable after the latest update.

This issue was mentioned in two earlier reviews and was also reported again in January App Store reviews.

“Since Version 7.8.6 starts, Wikipedia does not start anymore, stays stuck in the startup process.”

(Unfortunately, after today’s update, I can no longer open the otherwise very good app.) (German – January App Store review)

What should have happened instead?:
The app should launch normally and load the Explore page or last viewed content without freezing or hanging.
