Liquid Glass: Hide Explore's topbar elements on Scroll
Open, LowPublic

Description

Description

Whenever possible - but mainly in explore feed, it would be nice to hide top bar elements on scroll - in this way the interface is cleaner for browsing and discovering. On scroll down they are back.

Requirements

  • Hide top bar elements (Wikipedia, tabs, profile, search) on scroll on Explore (Match article view behavior)
  • Display them again upon fast scroll up (Match article view behavior)
  • Collapse Wikipedia logo into W upon scroll (figma)

Event Timeline

@HNordeenWMF I connected with the engineers last Wed and it seems there are some technical difficulties in implementing this behaviour at the moment. So we decided not to proceed with that in this first iteration, and we can revisit the decision once the other Liquid Glass pieces are in place. Documentation of the decision here. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T416194 - please let me know if any objections.
