Apologies for the false alarm - it turns out this is a known issue. That error appears if the donor created their recurring donation before we switched from a previous integration of PayPal called “Legacy” we are now on the the PayPal_ec aka Express Checkout integration.

However, our documentation hints that we were perhaps looking at a fix, and going to PayPal to cancel the donation in these cases was a short term solution. Ideally we would fix this, particularly once all tokens are on Gravy - we don't want to be dealing with multiple PSPs or cancelling at them once we've centralised our workflows on one platform.

So a follow up request is an ask to figure out what we can do about these Legacy PayPal donations.
