Background
The For You and Community feed empty state is displayed when a user has turned off all modules via Settings for a feed. Rather than showing a blank screen, the empty state actively encourages users to re-engage by explaining why the feed is empty and giving them a direct path back to the modules settings screen to turn content back on, playfulness and delight is encouraged.
The empty state replaces the entire feed — no module cards are shown.
User Story
As a Wikipedia reader who has turned off all modules in For You and/or Community, I want to see a helpful explanation of why my feed is empty and an easy way to turn modules back on, so that I don't feel stuck or confused and can quickly restore my feed.
Requirements
- The empty feed state is shown when all modules are toggled off in Settings → Explore Feed → For You OR Community → Modules.
- The standard feed chrome remains visible: Wikipedia wordmark (top left), Community/For You tab switcher, language switcher, notification bell, and bottom navigation bar.
- The empty state displays a visual illustration or icon indicating the feed is empty (specific asset to be defined in design).
- A heading reads: 'Your <Feed Name> feed is empty'.
- A supporting message reads: 'Turn on modules to start seeing content here.'
- A single CTA button labeled 'Manage modules' navigates directly to Settings → Explore Feed → For You OR Community → Modules.
- There is no more menu, no card counter, and no reason label on the empty state — it is not a feed card.
- The empty state is vertically centered on screen.
- If the user navigates to the Community tab while the For You feed is empty, the Community tab is unaffected and displays normally and vice versa.
- If a user re-enables at least one module from the modules settings screen and returns to the tab, the feed populates normally and the empty state is no longer shown.
