As part of the Article Guidance work (T396029), an initial step to capture "title entry and topic matching" (T414902). In many cases, users will start this step by providing an article title and selecting the corresponding topic. However, in cases where some of those pieces of information are already known, we want to support having them pre-filled. This is convenient to support different types of entry points.
This ticket is focused on detailing the behaviour when the workflow is started under the following circumstances:
- An initial article title is known.
- The topic is known.
- The type of article is known.
- A combination of the above.
In these cases we may want to make it clear which is the pre-filled information and provide paths for the users to change it if needed.
Some examples from entry point explorations (T414535) where different needs for pre-filling info are needed:
| Tapping on a red link: initial title is pre-filled (users can adjust) | Suggestions: Topic (and title derived from it) are pre-filled | Outline pages: article type pre-selected (with option to provide title, and select specific topic) |
