Licensing information
The licensing of data in Finto varies by ontology, but in almost all cases, it is either CC0, CC-BY, or CC-BY-SA, with all datasets intended to be open data. Some older ontologies, such as Lapponica (which has been succeeded by YSO, licensed under CC0), do not explicitly specify a license.
Short description of the dataset
Finto is the Finnish national ontology service managed by the National Library of Finland. They provide a SPARQL endpoint for their ontologies, making it useful to enable federated queries directly from Wikidata Query Service and Wikimedia Commons Query Service. Data is linked from Finto to Wikidata using skos:closeMatch and from Wikidata to Finto using P2347 , P6293, P8980, P9486 and P10063.
