Background
We want to roll out the reading list beta feature to a group of pilot wikis on web (mobile and desktop): ar, fr, zh, id, vi in the week of April 6 2026.
- Thursday, April 9: enable ReadingLists BetaFeature on these wikis for existing users
- Monday, April 13: opt-in new accounts to the ReadingLists BetaFeature
Question: When do we enable QuickSurveys? We did some bug fixes this week, so all the bug fixes need to either be backported or wait for the train.
User story
As a wikipedia account holder on these wikis (ar, fr, zh, id, vi), I am able to navigate to my beta features settings and find "Reading List". There, I can read about this feature, access the links to the talk page and project page, and choose to enable this feature.
After enabling this feature, I can navigate to any article and see the "bookmark" button that will save an article to my reading list.
I can use the Saved List icon at the top navigation bar or the link in a "save article success" toast to navigate to my reading list, where I can see the list of my saved articles.
As a brand new user who creates a new account on these five wikis (ar, fr, zh, id, vi), I will be automatically opted into the reading list beta feature. Navigating to an article will show the bookmark icon, and I will be able to navigate to the reading list.
