Some common English abbreviations are used in other languages but do not end up in our Abbreviation list due to low frequency of usage.
Example: a sentence is split in the following way in yowiki
[
'Goslini àti Okuta yege fún ìbò Eléré Ọkùnrin àti Eléré Obinrin ní kọ̀kan wọn. ',
'Òkìkí rẹ̀ kàń̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí nǹkan ìjayé tí ó bẹ̀rẹ̀ ni nǹkan bí 400 A.D. ',
'tí ó sì gbòde tihtí di nǹkan bí 1100 A.D.'
]The sentence was split in A.D. instead of recognizing that it is an abbreviation. A.D. is not listed in yowiki but is listed in enwiki.
We can set enwiki abbreviation list as a global list for all languages to use, besides their own lists.

Just for more context, this is not just an example of "english shows up everywhere" but also a function of the english wiktionary community being far larger than other language editions and also tracking a lot of non-english words etc.
