I am using Ubuntu 24.04 with Chrome, Mediawiki 1.46.0-wmf.21 (rMWcc5dd62c0a54) 19:41, 1. Apr. 2026 and MathJax is used as default rendering engine for math environment.

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

• Open a diskussion page
• Start a new thread using the button in the top right corner
• Copy the Code

into the text field and look at the perview.

The preview is rendered with native MathMl but not with MathJax. In my opinion the preview should be rendered with MathJax
