A donor in Zendesk ticket #1860417 / CID 69517967 said the receipt they received for their 04/03/2026 donation made via Apple Pay was in an incorrect name. We asked for them for the correct name to be used moving forward and also advised them that they will want to ensure the correct name is listed in their Apple Pay account.
Today we corrected their name in Civi as requested to the name beginning A*. Then, we noticed when looking at their 04/03 transaction in Gr4vy (see 57ee2e72-5fab-4e03-a170-b5fe75bda3a4) that the name actually associated with the transaction in Gr4vy IS correct and is the name the donor noted should have been used.
The name that WAS listed on their Civi record and on the receipt they received appears to be associated with their previous donation received on 12/11/2025 (see 689b7b33-9008-42ad-9237-0789e3718bb0). It's slightly harder to review as we've changed the name in Civi already, but looking at activities we can see the receipt for the April donation was sent to a name beginning J** despite this new donation having the correct donor name beginning A**** at Gr4vy.
It seems like the name associated with the first donation made back in December 2025 was retained as the donor's name in Civi despite the donor having a new/corrected name associated with their newest Apple Pay donation? This seems similar to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T397860, but we're unclear if it's the exact same issue so creating this new phab.
