design concepts/improvements to thank the individual that were presented to design research:
design notes 'thank' action next to the edit summary line (new styling of button) when a user clicks on ‘thank’, a dialog comes up where they can select a reason. information about public log is on the footer of the dialog. they can send thanks or cancel the action examples of reasons the user could select confirmation/success message for the user informing that thanks has been sent. aside from being able to select a reason, perhaps users could also add a short message (to prevent abuse, perhaps the short custom message will only be allowed for users with more advanced rights, such as autopatrolled and up) when viewing the public thanks log, maybe users could filter by reason. when seeing the list, the reason could be specified: "(Reason: Content improvement)". when users get sent a notification when they’re thanked, we could include the reason the sender selected or the comment they wrote — same with e-mail.
