Set $wgSignatureAllowedLintErrors to an empty array on Spanish Wiktionary
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

As a follow-up to T424983 and per community consensus, we request to set $wgSignatureAllowedLintErrors to an empty array, i.e., to disallow all lint errors in signatures. This was agreed upon in the first place, but I missed the existence and influence of this second config variable (sorry for the trouble).

Hi, is this an impossible task to do?

@Tmagc: Why do you ask? What makes you think so? Please see https://xyproblem.info/ - thanks!

For reference, this would be stricter than what was done for enwiki (T354013) and plwiki (T362414), which only removed obsolete-tag but kept night-mode-unaware-background-color. (Minor note: the community discussion mentions it the other way around, but the current config in InitialiseSettings.php confirms this.) Based on the linked discussion, the community seems to have agreed on disallowing all lint errors without exceptions.

@Aklapper I'm asking because the other request was accomplished within a day, while this one is been delayed almost a week. Does it break the system just inserting an additional assignation sentence in the mw settings file?

@Tmagc To my knowledge, requests for site-config changes on Wikimedia wikis don't have a WMF team that 'stewards' them; so (at least, in my own experience) if/when a Wikimedia-Site-requests task is actioned may often depend on if/when a volunteer chooses to pick it up & submit a patch for it.
(So, that is to say, it's not necessarily that this task is impossible; but I would assume that it might be more just that no volunteer has picked it up yet.)

okok thanks, my impatience arose since I have knowledge of two simple previous site-config requests related to the project where I contribute, and both where accomplished within a day. So, from my modest experience I thought it isn't normal, and wanted to ask if is there any trouble in doing so, but if you say that long wait times are normal, I'll abide it.
