Pull Reader Accounts Created baseline for FY26-27 KR DE3.3

Description

In DE 3.3 for FY26-27, we will be tracking number of newly created reader accounts in Q1 and Q2, compared to the same period from the previous calendar year. In order to set a goal for the KR, whose current draft is:

Increase by 50% the number of reader accounts created in FY26-27 Q1 and Q2 compared to that period in the previous fiscal year

Please pull the actual number of reader accounts created in FY25-26 Q1 and Q2, so we can see whether 50% increase is a reasonable goal.

Definition

A new reader account is defined as a user who creates a new account and does not make an edit within 30 days of registration.
The 30-day waiting period was chosen to align with the waiting window used for new editor accounts.

Baseline
  • FY25–26 Q1
    • 316,868 new reader accounts did not make any edits within 30 days of registration.
    • A total of 502,691 new accounts were created in Q1. Of these, 63.0% were classified as new reader accounts.
  • FY25–26 Q2
    • 356,662 new reader accounts did not make any edits within 30 days of registration.
    • A total of 544,095 new accounts were created in Q2. Of these, 65.6% were classified as new reader accounts.

Notes:

  • The baseline includes accounts from Desktop, Mobile Web, and App platforms.
  • The baseline includes only Wikipedia projects.
