As part of the Article Guidance work (T396029), the experiment users in the test group get exposed to article guidance.
While options to skip the guidance for specific cases as proposed in T426382 can be helpful for advanced editors (e.g., when trying to create a redirect), we want to provide a more general mechanism to opt-out more broadly from using the feature. In this way, users affected by some unpolished aspects of an early development stage feature can make sure that those won't affect their regular workfows, while other users interested in trying it and get involved in the process of improving it can still do so.
This ticket proposes to add an option to the "Editing" section of the user settings. The option could be labeled along the lines of "Use article guidance when creating new articles". The setting will control whether the article creation entry points lead users to article guidance or the default experience.
Regarding the exposure, we may want to show it only to the experiment group. In this way, people experiencing the feature would be able to opt-out.
