  • Context.

Interview + concept testing to confirm whether a Table of Contents feature would be helpful for a subset of articles, better understanding reader needs/pain points when seeking specific info, and getting early concept feedback of ideas on the roadmap

This came up from discussion with Sherry, for Reader Growth -- originally stemming from wanting to understand what we think happened during the experiment that made retention negative, to inform future Reader Growth work - but we have also broadened the goal now, to understand mobile web needs/behaviors more broadly, to inform future Reader Growth work.

  • Expected Deliverable.

Research report - initial draft delivered by July 8.

Jahnavi will be doing the research with Debra as the bridge.

Weekly Updates:

  • Research plan is currently under review from stakeholders. I expect to finalise it by early this week.
  • I'll also start preparing for the interviews (discussion guide, recruitment, etc) this week.

Weekly Updates:

  • Research plan has been finalised and the study is underway.
  • Last week we also started work on recruitment and the discussion guide. The discussion guide is ready and recruitment will take place along with interviews. I'm using Userlytics for this study which is expected to ease recruitment.
  • I conducted a successful pilot earlier this week and have started sessions for this project. At the moment, I've finished 1/5 casual reader sessions and 1/5 sporadic reader sessions. I expect to complete the rest between this week and early next week.

  • I've started work on data analysis and will work on a report draft in parallel.
