This was discussed on our monthly meet on last Sunday and previous meet as well. 5-6 community members who are active on both projects agreed for it. • Should auto creation (CentralAuth) trigger a new user message? (yes for the majority of the wikis)

• Should it be a minor edit or a regular one for RC purpose? (yes everywhere, excepted on ar. and incubator.)

For signature, please configure it to randomly use one of the two active admins, i.e. Dsvyas & Ashok Modhvadia.

The signatures, content message, etc. is configurable directly on wiki.

You'll find the configuration reference at the following URL:

Signatures should be added to:

• [[gu:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-signatures]]
• [[gu:wikisource:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-signatures]]

To set the message, this is on the following pages:

• [[gu:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-template]]
• [[gu:wikisource:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-template]]

Content should be something like:
{{સ્વાગત}}

Template won't be subst as long as the following pages stay empty:

• [[gu:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-substitute‎]]
• [[gu:wikisource:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-substitute‎]]

I let the bug open until you confirm the extension is well configured on wiki and work well.

Thank you Dereckson for quickly configuring it and installing this long pending extension. Have configured signautures, etc. locally. Awaiting a new user creation to see how this works. Will update here once successful. Thank you Reedy as well for swiftly deploying the commit.

Something looks broken somewhere, as you can see on [[gu:User talk:K7L]] names are not displayed in signature (I have already configured gu:MediaWiki:Newusermessage-signatures) and seems the template is substituted. Have I missed something?

I looked configuration in other wikis and I see the following elements.

(1) The signatures should be a list following this syntax:

• [[સભ્ય:Dsvyas|Dsvyas]]
• [[સભ્ય:Ashok modhvadia|Ashok modhvadia]]

(2) Template configuration message shouldn't a {{}} call, but the template page:

ઢાંચો:સ્વાગત

(3) Your welcome template looks fine.
