Description
Based on feedback gathered during the pilot, there are a few opportunities to simplify and streamline the main page customization task flow.
Proposed updates
- Focus areas do not appear to be particularly useful in the current flow and could potentially be removed.
- On the customize module screen, users should be able to add their own custom blocks/templates in addition to predefined ones. We should also provide a simple UX for selecting where these blocks should appear within the layout.
- For content growth, instead of asking users to individually select all five categories, we could simplify this into a single checkbox that enables all related categories together.
- “Save template” and “Publish template” actions could potentially be moved into a separate step for additional scaffolding and clarity.
- The design and interaction patterns for this task should align more closely with the flow and structure of other essential tasks.
- Add a landing page similar to other tasks with the following content:

Build homepage layout, create and save editable templates, preview and publish changes to your local wiki. You can change everything later.
