  • How is the number calculated. Is it really only items?
  • The section Get help with editing is empty. Is this something our team needs to update?

I had a very brief look during Task Time and I think it’s not limited to Items? The query in ComputedUserImpactLookup::getEditData() seems to return all namespaces. But this might be filtered later (look for editedArticles in the code, I think).

@karapayneWMDE the get help and other sections is something that needs to be configured by community admins, Mohammed has been in touch with them and they will be applying their settings.

And I am not sure how the number is calculated, my understanding was it was views on Item pages.

Yeah, an if ( (int)$row->page_namespace !== NS_MAIN ) { continue; } condition limits it to “articles” (here defined as “pages in the main namespace”, i.e. unrelated to “content pages”) before it gets added to $editedArticles, and only the edited articles have their page view data loaded later in getExpensiveUserImpact(). So AFAICT it really is only Items – at least on Wikidata. (If you use GrowthExperiments on a non-Wikimedia wiki where items are in an Item namespace and ns0 is something else, then Item views would not be included in the homepage at all.)

(It doesn’t look like the GrowthExperiments change is getting merged, and Halima is out today, so I’ll upload a quick patch to move this to the Wikidata.org extension.)
