Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Special:NewArticle.
  2. Search for Broader autism phenotype.
  3. Confirm that Q140133556 appears in the results.
  4. Observe a seemingly valid wikidata search result but it is not linked to any outline
NOTE: Broader autism phenotype in wikidata is not linked to anything, no instance of, no parent class, so it's impossible for the system to match it to anything.

Event Timeline

GGalofre-WMF moved this task from Backlog to OKR work on the LPL sprints board.

This also seems to affect the crosswiki notability risk as well:

  1. https://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:NewArticle?newarticletitle=Karen_Foo_Kune
  2. Click "Pick type instead"
  3. Choose "Celebrity"

You are then told To create an article about this subject, it must already exist in other Wikipedias, but they do have several wikis listed on their sitelinks on wikidata (including enwiki).

SBisson renamed this task from Article Guidance: Manual type selection can treat an existing Wikidata item as missing to Article Guidance: fail to match "Broader autism phenotype" wikidata item to "medical metaclass" outline.Jul 15 2026, 3:07 PM
