After the recent effort to fix the error with the API removing watchlist labels from pages (T423778), I was wondering why I still occasionally see this problem sometimes. It turns out that ReFill, RefRenamer. and HotCat were removing the watchlist label by the time I get to the preview/save screen. I've already reported this to the RefRenamer script developer and it was fixed. The HotCat bug was already reported.

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

• Run "Page | Tools... | Expand bare references" on any article.
• Let it process to the result, and click "Preview/Save" given there are changes to make.
• On the preview/save screen, you will see that if the article had watchlist labels associated with them, they will no longer appear.

What happens?:

Watchlist labels are reset.

What should have happened instead?:

Watchlist labels that were previously set should appear.
