Recap

The only difference lies in the device: Android has 3 actions, iOS has 2 (no download).

Change #1311871 had a related patch set uploaded (by Marco Fossati; author: Marco Fossati):

[mediawiki/skins/MinervaNeue@master] Minimal Minerva: edit and watch actions only

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/1311871

Change #1311873 had a related patch set uploaded (by Marco Fossati; author: Marco Fossati):

[mediawiki/extensions/ReaderExperiments@master] Minimal Minerva: disable the overflow menu

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/1311873

@JScherer-WMF based on T432267#12131914, here's my proposal:

  • display two actions only - edit and watch
  • remove the three-dot overflow menu entirely
  • no download action, since it depends on the device

We're in minimalist mode, so the proposal is as minimalist as possible 😄 .

Patches ready, let me know what you think.

Thanks for this, @mfossati ! I did all the designs under the assumption that share would have shipped by now. But now that it hasn't, we don't need an overflow menu anymore! I have updated the designs accordingly: https://www.figma.com/design/TOFWXLHh8HAKb1JYjaxzyW/Minimal-Minerva-header?node-id=259-5805&t=qEwCAxEwsKi1d8I7-4

Questions:
I'm sure that the questions below have been answered somewhere.
@mfossati

  • Talk tab for Talk page is not present anymore - is it intentional?
  • figma design shows the edit icon and watch icon are aligned with an article title. testwiki wmf.13 shows that the icons occupy the previous place - underneath the title.
  • figma design shows counters for comments and languages - those counters are going to be implemented in next revisions of the tool belt?

Change #1319055 had a related patch set uploaded (by Marco Fossati; author: Marco Fossati):

[mediawiki/extensions/ReaderExperiments@master] Minimal Minerva: enable via URL parameter

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/1319055

Moving back to QA, since the screenshots suggest that minimal Minerva wasn't active. @Etonkovidova you can append ?minimalMinerva=1 to the URL as soon as the above patch is merged.
