Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
- Be logged in as me (User:Robbi5) at a wmf wiki (e.g. dewiki, simplewiki, commons, test2 - but not enwiki or wikitech)
- See a 1 at the bell (Your alerts) and the inbox (Your notices) icons on the top of the page
- Click on both
- See an alert/notice from another wiki: Wikitech (alert: 1 year old, notice: 10 years old) - see screenshots below, there are no more details
- Open Wikitech Notifications page: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Notifications
- Zero Notifications are available, no read, no unread
What happens?:
On different - but not all - wmf wikis (tested with simplewiki, dewiki, commons, test2) the alert/notice for the no longer existing(?) wikitech notification appears. Interestingly on enwiki I don't get the alert/notice.
Clicking on the read-dot on the top right hides it for the current open page in the browser, after reopening the alert/notice popup it appears again - unread.
What should have happened instead?:
No notifications that are no longer there should be alerted on other wikis that are not wikitech.
Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia): n/a, simplewiki, dewiki, commons, wikitech
