Description

Within FY 2026-27 DE1.3.2 Impact + Dashboard, we want to move code related to the Impact module from GrowthExperiments-ImpactModule to a new extension, where the data would be computed using the Wikimedia Analytics API.

In this task, we should create a repository for that extension (provisionally called ImpactModule, name TBC).

Acceptance Criteria

A repository in Gerrit gets created (proposed name: mediawiki/extensions/ImpactModule)
The repository gets populated with the extension template
The repository gets connected with Wikimedia CI infrastructure (meaning jenkins-bot will vote on changes just like it usually does)
List the extension in https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Developers/Maintainers

Since this is a new extension we'll now need to go through the SCROLL process and have a task similar to this one T431285: New Scroll Request for: ModeratorToolkit Extension. A security review ticket would also be need at before this goes live

Potentially. I intentionally did not create similar tasks yet, because there is currently nothing to review (and we know the code will be different, so re-reviewing current Impact module implementation makes no sense). I'll follow up on that as we get minimum code ready.

This will also need security review right?

Very likely. Similarly to above, I'll start that process once we get at least minimum info in how the code will look like.
