"Copy result link" in Wikifunctions' "Try a function" pane is not tied to the result/submission
Open, In Progress, LowPublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Echo a string
  • Change the string argument, but do not click "Run function"
  • Click "Copy result link"
  • Paste into new tab

What happens?:

The link encodes the new string instead of the one which produced the shown result.

What should have happened instead?:

The submitted input should be remembered and the button should copy that to the clipboard.

Software version (on Special:Version page; skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

WF

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

FF 153

Event Timeline

@YoshiRulz If you don’t click on “Run function,” the result won’t change, so the link remains the same. This should be expected behavior, right?

That's what I would expect, given the button's label and location. Currently the result doesn't change but the link does.

Ah! Right! My apologies for the misunderstanding. :)
