I created a draft page targeted at tool developers, to gather information about tool performance monitoring and analyzing tool usage: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Monitor_and_analyze_tools
I created this page because this step of the tool developer journey is currently unrepresented in the Toolforge docs, and I've been wanting to fix that for awhile. This may not necessarily be Toolforge-specific information, but the Toolforge docs on Wikitech are the only place I know of where we're providing this type of content for tool devs.
Related:
- We have https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Performance, but it is very long, seems targeted at SREs or Toolforge admins (see T347893).
- This work was prompted by the info in this Wikitech-l thread.
- As noted in the wiki page draft, it would be ideal to have a curated list of tools in Toolhub that devs can use to monitor and analyze their tool usage. If /when the work is done to annotate Toolhub records and/or create a curated list of such tools, we should link to that from the wiki page instead of linking directly to tools.
