Context:
During testing and collecting feedback from the community, we have discovered that users would like more visibility of data in each instance, i.e. what items are in Wikibases
We want to test an item search functionality. The first version can be fairly simple and lightweight.
User Story:
As an explorer of the Wikibase Ecosystem, I want to search for items to see which Wikibase might contain relevant data for my use case.
AC:
- New item search option in the search bar
- Item result list, items grouped per instance
- Each item in the result list fulfills these criteria:
- Label of the item is displayed
- Label has a link that forwards the user to the actual item on that Wikibase (new tab)
- Item Q-ID is displayed
- Item description is displayed
- Results include statuses: no results, timed out, 404
- Search results are pulled by API calls to each instance > Similar to item search functionality of Federated Items (no storage of data)
- (!) The URL slug should dynamically change according to the search query: /search?=query
- All design requirements follow the design of the Figma prototype
