Why (Context & Decision)
The UXR team are supporting the promotional editing OKR, by proposing updates to the Wikidata create item page, to see if these updates can reduce the number of items created are non-notable.
What (Scope & Output)
//Before we build AB tests for this, we would like to check the underlying data source(s) to check feasibility of capturing these metrics via Test Kitchen (for AB tests), and to also have a baseline of # items created weekly (broken down by notability classification), in order to start estimating test duration and reaching statistical significance.
As such, we suggest to calculate a weekly trend of new Wikidata Items created and their notability classification. We can do this using the work in progress producing wd_item_notability_prep_weekly table and wmf edit table (actual table name TBA).//
- Tables / source data checked and documented as part of the AB test plan.
- Weekly trend of total new items created and their notability classification / split.
By When (Timing & Priority)
Provide a clear deadline, any key milestones (e.g. launch, leadership review), and note if timing is flexible or fixed.
