Feature summary:
To reduce the number of pop-ups that event participants get when they go about their editing, I suggest a number of new features are added:
Editor-side changes:
- Whenever you associate an edit of an article with the event, add that article to the worklist so that future edits count automatically
- Only ask once per page whether the contribution should be counted. When an editor says no, remaining edits to that page are unlikely to be for the event
Worklist / organiser changes
- Allow organisers to set the included namespaces, so that edits in irrelevant namespaces (e.g. Wikipedia) do not get flagged
- Make it easier for organisers to add articles for multiple languages to worklist. That is: make it possible to create a link of wikidata entries + a list of all languages participating in the event, so that you don't have to manually duplicate lists for each language.
- Make it possible to add articles to the worklist by WikiProject or category, to easily include the full scope of the event
Use case(s) and Benefits (Describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Why should this be implemented? Do not describe only a solution):
- I'm editing in the Organised Labour campaign, and would like this to be much more smooth. I now get interrupted for each edit in my other work asking if my edits should be associated to the event, even when I've already indicated that these pages are irrelevant. For clearly relevant edits, I also have to manually add them to the event, as the very large worklist is still incomplete. As an organiser, editing the worklist is difficult, as it's so long that it freezes out, given the duplication across many different languages. Adding Wikiprojects or categories would make this much more maintanable.
